As a domestic employer you are responsible for providing your nanny with a contract within 8 weeks of the start date of employment. A standard contract will cover all employment areas including hours, salary, holiday and sick pay and notice periods required.
We strongly urge you to fulfill your legal requirements in this area. Being a responsible employer includes being clear about employment requirements, pay, holiday arrangements etc, and is an integral part of ensuring you maintain a good relationship with your nanny. Once you have found the right candidate we will provide you with a sample contract which you can use should you choose to. Please ensure you read it over thoroughly and modify where needed. We stress that this is only a sample and it is your responsibility to ensure the contract covers all of the areas you require.
