Ancestry Visa Update- July 08 PDF Print E-mail

July 08:
As reported below recent review of British immigration policy has seen the future of the Ancestry Visa under threat. We are pleased to report that as of this month the British government has reported that Ancestry Visas will be retained. Great news! http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PA0807/S00268.htm

April 08:
The British Government is discussing abolishing the Ancestry Visa for Commonwealth Citizens as part of the process of introducing a points-based system for work permits and tougher rules for obtaining citizenship.

KiwiOz Nannies is petitioning the government to keep this visa available to the many descendants of British Citizens to allow them the opportunity to live and work in the UK. We already have a very high demand for nannies from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and this would further restrict the numbers able to come to nanny in the UK.

Parents and nannies, please click on the link below to sign the petition and pass this link on to all your Commonwealth Citizen friends, family and supporters! We need at least 200 signatures to get it submitted to the Prime Minister's office.
