KiwiOz Nannies Wellness in the Park

Where on earth do I start? There was just too much amazingness for one day I am overwhelmed! Anyway, enough of that I am sure you're all buzzing to know what KiwiOz got up to during their Wellness in the Park meet up!

On Saturday the 30th of June, we met with 30 other KiwiOz Nannies on Clapham Common where the sun was shining probably the brightest that it can in London (haha). What followed was a morning with the absolutely beautiful Life and Wellness Coach, Emilia Francesca and equally as incredible Vinyasa trained Yoga instructor Lauryn Allman. Here's a little pic to put the faces to the name - Lauryn (left) and Emilia (right).
Picture
Let's admit it, nannying can be a tough gig sometimes! We get it, all day you are putting endless energy, love and time into these wee ones who need nothing more (well maybe a bit more, but let's just start with that) to grow and develop into smart, loving, beautiful humans. But, you know that energy, love and time I just mentioned? YOU NEED IT TOO! You know that old saying - 'can't pour from an empty cup'? Well, believe it or not it is true.

We love that with the help of Emilia we had the opportunity to offer to our Nannies a workshop where they could learn all different types of techniques to use day to day that are going to help with alll those things that inevitably fill up your cup!
There were loads of techniques and actives that Emilia went through with us, first we started with tapping - not many girls had heard of it before, but after giving it a go and hearing how it can help I know it is something I will be taking away from the workshop. Following that we explored Self-care and Self-love - two obvious attributes when it comes to Wellness but two that time and time again are not given enough attention! Here's a little something that you can do right now - think of five things that you have done that you are proud of; for those Kiwi's/ Aussie's that travelled to London there's number one, moving to the other side of the world and landing a Nannying job is pretty bloody awesome! Be proud of yourself people and be proud of being proud!
Other valuable themes that we covered included Gratitude and 'how to turn your negatives into positives'. I think what we loved most about the way in which Emilia presented all of these points to us is that she was real, she was coming from a place we could all relate to and she made it clear that nothing is a quick fix you do need to work on it to get the results. We can't wait to have Emilia back for another KiwiOz Wellness in the Park - she is a wealth of knowledge!

After we wrapped up on the workshop side of things it was time for Lauryn to take over with a guided meditation and Yoga class. Lauryn was excellent in accommodating to all levels, and really making you feel like she was attentive to you specifically, even with 30ish other girls around! Lauryn was also in tune with the topics we had just covered so using Yoga as a way to compliment the workshop was just the cherry on top we were after!
Finally I would like to thank the incredible companies that sponsored this event by providing take home samples and discount vouchers - Sukin with their Sensitive Cleansing Gel, Pukka with a variety of tea to choose from including their 'night time' tea, Crystal Spring thank you for your 'Salt of the Earth' natural deodorant, Weleda I cannot wait to use your 'Wild Rose Body Oil' and body wash, A.Vogel I can guarantee the 'Arnica Gel' and Herb Guide book will come in handy, Jan de Vries mmm herbal tea, Tribe and Pip & Nut for offering up some crazy discounts and last but certainly not least the incredibly generous Lizi's for giving us a larger than expected sample of their new 'Lizi's Adventure Granola' that unfortunately did not make it in time - but not to fear hopefully the first of many Wellness in the Park days and this will just have to be a special treat for our next one!
Well guys, I hope I have given you an idea as to what our Wellness morning was all about, thanks for reading and I even more so hope that this has given you a little motivation if you were lacking. Stay in touch with our Facebook and other social pages to get the latest updates - hope to see you at our next KiwiOz Wellness in the Park xxx

The Easter Bunny visits KiwiOz

First, check out (some of) our KiwiOz Kids crew - aren't they awesome! We loved having them around to the office at the end of March for our annual Easter Egg Hunt, they were all so well behaved, very artistic and a wee bit competitive when it came to the hunt.

On Thursday the 29th we invited our KiwiOz family to come over for a morning of play, craft and fun!
In preparation for the Easter Egg hunt planned for later we of course had to decorate our baskets -

All that art was making us hungry though and we knew later in the hunt we would need all that we had, so to build our energy levels back up it was fruit break time, oh and a sneaky dance break too!
When time came for the hunt you couldn't round these guys up quick enough, they were ready to go from the moment they walked through the door that morning. So, newly decorated baskets in hand and off they went - it was crazy, it was every man for themselves and not one egg was left 'un-hunted'.

A special thank you once again to the incredibly talented Leana Catherine for joining us at our KiwiOz Kids Event for March - and how lucky that it was our Annual Easter Egg Hunt!

It's that time of the year again where the Easter Bunny creeps back into town and hides all the Easter eggs for our KiwiOz Kids! Our morning will be filled with lots of fun, treats and craft and we would love it if you could come along.

On Thursday 29th March, from 10am in our office (Unit 1F Clapham North Business Centre, 26 - 32 Voltaire Road, SW4 6DH) we will all start to arrive, meet and greet, catch up etc. There will be tea, coffee, biccies and fruit provided for a mid-morning snack. Then the kiddies - and you too if you wish - get crafty with some Easter themed activities including make own basket (to use for our hunt of course), and egg decorating to take home and show the family just a glimpse of the fun you had! Then the much-anticipated moment - THE HUNT!

We are so looking forward to this KiwiOz Kids Event and hope you are too!

Disclosure: we do take photos at our KiwiOz Kids events, in fact we have the lovely Leana Catherine stopping by. These photos may be distributed to Facebook and other social media apps, newsletters etc. as well as our website. By clicking attending you are agreeing to these terms. If your family has instructed you otherwise, please do contact us prior to the event.

Travel Talk Tour's All-In-One Travel Show!

Picture
Last month KiwiOz Nannies were given the opportunity by our Nanny of the Year Sponsors and partners Travel Talk Tours to attended their All-In-One Travel Show! We had such a great day mingling with the Kiwi/Oz community in London, it gave us the chance to meet up with some of our current nannies and get to know some potential candidates. Whilst Travel Talk definitely did their bit with crazy discounted tours we didn't want to miss out on the chance for a giveaway either, one lucky winner of ours walked away with a £50 Topshop voucher, Nicole Porima - others enjoyed delicious 'KiwiOz' cupcakes from Crumbs and Doilies and those unlucky on the spinning wheel, well a dearly missed spoon of vegemite for them - mwahaha. Thanks for having us Travel Talk - see you at the next one!

Then in the month of March, KiwiOz was invited to attend the Y-Travel show hosted by Kiwi's in London, which was also a very fun, positive event! Again we were able to give out some goodies, this time we bought Tim Tams (yummm) and another £50 Topshop voucher, which was taken out by Amalie Walker!

Thanks again to Travel Talk Tours and Kiwi's in London for having us, see you next time!

Valentine's Party - Big Hearts for Little People.

Picture
WOW WOW WOW WOW!!

On Sunday the 4th of February KiwiOz Nannies volunteered at the incredible Valentine's Party - Big Hearts for Little People event hosted by the Great Ormond Street Charity (GOSH) and 'GOSH' what an incredible day it was!

The event was a huge success and £211, 115 was raised towards their three year target of £750, 000!
All the money raised at the Valentine’s Party will go towards a new specialised building for Sight and Sound at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Children with visual or hearing impairments make up the largest outpatient group at GOSH – with an average of over 2,900 patient visits each month from across the UK. Although they are already receiving world class care, the new, highly specialised facilities will help to dramatically improve their overall experience of coming to hospital.

On the day our KiwiOz Nannies were distributed throughout the event to cover some of the awesome activities they had lined up for the children - they had everything from Robot coding, cupcake decorating and t-shirt printing! The adult party - goers were invited to bid on the luxury silent auction, buy scratch card raffle tickets and pledge donations towards specialist equipment at the hospital. One lucky party-goer in particular went home with a KiwiOz Nanny search up to the value of £3000 and we just can't wait for the chance to find them a great KiwiOz Nanny!

Once again, it was our pleasure to be involved with this wonderful event, here's a few pics below of what we got up to on the day!

Massive shout out to our Valtenines Party competition winners - Chris, Martha and Barnaby!

Over the last couple of weeks KiwiOz gave our nannies the chance to enter their KiwiOz families into the draw to win tickets to the Great Ormond Street Charity Valentine's Party - Big Hearts for Little People valued at £500!

We met up with the trio on the day to see what they were getting up to and boy were they having fun, from biscuit decorating to balloon walls and all the bits in between, Martha and Barnaby (and Chris) were definitely making the most of it - we are so glad you could make it.

It was such a fun day and all in aid of a new specialised building for Sight and Sound at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), stay tuned for more ins and outs of the day and how it unfolded.

KiwiOz's Magic Miles

The month of October will see KiwiOz pulling together with the community to raise much needed funds for the Make-A Wish Foundation. On the 27th of October at 10am we will be gathering at Clapham Common for a morning filled with walking, face painting, Halloween dress ups and so much more fun. Everyone is welcome to come along, the more the merrier!

A little bit of an insight from the Make-A-Wish Foundation to bring more awareness to what it is they do -

"Our purpose is simple. We grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

The children we support are often enduring things most of us could never imagine. They’re going through gruelling treatment, endless medical appointments and spending time in hospital away from their home, friends and family. A far cry from the childhood they should be enjoying.

Granting their One True Wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and have chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold.

Last year, more than 2,300 seriously ill children turned to us, more than ever before. And with this number constantly growing, we can only grant their wishes with the help of people like you.

We want to transform the lives of 1,000 children this year by granting their One True Wish.
We receive no government funding – so rely on the support of people like you."

To read about any of the wishes that this wonderful foundation has previously granted and similarly what it is your donations will help to achieve click here. If you cannot make it to our KiwiOz Magic Miles you are still able to give, every penny counts, here is the link straight to our donations page.

Last weekend, we were fortunate enough to have been able to volunteer at and be part of Great Ormond Street's Valentines Party, Big Hearts for Little People. Not only this, but we are BEYOND PROUD to have been a sponsor for this incredible event!

The Valentine’s Party is part of a three year initiative to raise £500,000 to fund new ensuite single bedrooms at Great Ormond Street Hospital, offering more privacy and dignity for young patients and their families.

The weekend's event marked the third and final year of the initiative, and we're thrilled to share that they met their target of £500,000!!! Wow wow WOW!!!

Children were entertained with an array of activities including t-shirt printing, model building, fossil digging, jewellery and headband making, cupcake decorating and so much more.

There was also an exclusive opportunity for adult partygoers to bid on the luxury silent auction, which included a ton of amazing items donated by lots of generous businesses who also felt this was a worthy cause.  Guests could also buy scratch card raffle tickets, and pledge donations towards specialist equipment at the hospital.

We had a wonderful time helping out at the various activity stands, and look forward to working with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity again in the future. LOVE your work, guys!

Halloween was a hit!

1/11/2016

Comments

We held our annual KiwiOz Kids Halloween Party on Friday, and it was an absolute hit!

The day started off with some Halloween themed arts & crafts, followed by some trick or treating. With every new door that we went knocking on, the yelling of "trick or treat" got louder and scarier! Luckily the people on the receiving end had lots of yummy treats for the kids to help get them on their side ;-)

There were so many fantastic costumes, that it was simply too hard to pick our favourite! We even had fun dressing up as well - because Halloween is for adults too, right?!

Thanks to all who joined us - we're already looking forward to next year x

KiwiOz Kids Sports Day 2016: done and dusted!

26/8/2016

Comments

Today marked our annual KiwiOz Kids Sports Day, and what a beautiful fun-filled day it was!

Due to having to postpone this from an earlier date, and the fact that there is a long weekend ahead of us - the turn out wasn't as big as we'd hoped. But that didn't stop the activities being enjoyed by all!

We started off with the usual chasing of bubbles, followed by some fun with the limbo stick. From there we had two rounds of a competitive egg & spoon race (one just wasn't enough!), and then finished the day with a sack race. It's safe to say the little kiddies are much speedier than us adults! ;-)

Thanks to those who joined us for the day - we look forward to seeing you at our next KiwiOz Kids event.

Such fun at the Superhero Picnic!

1/8/2016

Comments

After having to postpone our Superhero Picnic not once, but twice - we finally had a successful day out in St James's Park, with some pretty awesome Superheroes for company!

The day started with a fantastically fast 'Flash' and a 'Knight' in shining armour running laps around the park (showing us how strong they were), with a mini-Princess Leia later joining in on the fun.

After a bite to eat to refuel everyone's superpowers, we all had fun chasing around some bubbles and getting trapped under the rainbow parachute.

Despite the fact the sun didn't want to come out and play, we still had a great time and are already looking forward to the next picnic!

Teddy Bears' Picnic success!

13/5/2016

Comments

Yesterday marked our annual Teddy Bears' Picnic, and what a day it was! We had an incredible turnout; the sun was beaming, the birds were chirping, the Daisies were blooming, and the summer smell of sunscreen filled the air!

We had many fury friends with us for company, some of which almost went missing! Good thing we were all great Teddy Bear Hunters and mangaged to get through the day without any lost bears.

After munching down on some lunch on the comfort of our picnic blankets, the kids got right into the colouring-in and bubble-blowing. This didn't last long though, because once the rainbow parachute came out to play the kids were in complete amazement! They even struggled to separate themselves from this sensory overload when the time came to pack up.

The day couldn't have gone better and it was awesome to catch up with some of our Nannies and their little ones.

Keep your eyes peeled for details of our next KiwiOz Kids' Event!

The Easter hunt was an Easter hit!

1/4/2016

Comments

Despite the rain forecast for our Easter picnic and chocolate egg hunt, the sun came out and the rain stayed away! Which meant we were able to set up picnic blankets and enjoy the outdoors (rare in London in the autumn!)

There was such a great turnout; our nannies and little ones were all keen to hunt out the Easter eggs, and participate in the fun activities and games with the team.

Our colouring-in competition saw a huge number of entries with some budding future artists at play. The children were delighted with chasing the bubbles, collecting stickers, singing songs and playing games. Fun and laughter was aplenty!

This Thursday marks the first (or second!) day of school holidays across London, so we thought it was a perfect excuse to get our Nannies and kids together to celebrate Easter!

We'll be having a BYO picnic, followed by an epic Easter egg hunt! We'll also be holding a colouring-in competition for our Nannies and kids, who will be bringing along their pre-coloured masterpieces.

Watch this space to see how the day went!
