Nannies, you still have time to make these for the mum of your charges... in secret!
It is not uncommon for kids (and adults!) to put off gift making until the very last minute. If your charges are one of those, offer these quick arts & crafts ideas for Mother's Day. They probably have the materials for these on stock at home or, if not, they can be easily bought at any supply store. Most will not take more than an hour to create so you can do these in secret and surprise mums on their special day.
1. 5 Things I love about my mom
Easily made with cardboard paper and crayons. If they have stickers lying around, you can use them to!
2. Love Notes Jar
If you are looking after two or more kids, a love notes jar might be better than the card above.. Each kid can write things they love about their mom on a piece of paper and put them on a mason jar taken from the kitchen. No mason jar? Just about any container will do.
3. Flip the Flower Card
It will be fun thinking of short words (or sentences) to describe mom in creating this flip the flower card.
4. Photo bookmarks
With many photos store digitally nowadays, you might have to print photos before you can do this. But this would be a great gift for a bookish mom, don't you think?
5. Mother's Day Coupon Book
All you need is scraps of paper, whether colored or not, markers of different color, a puncher and small piece of ribbon. Kids can give coupons for a foot rub, 10 minutes of no talking, an afternoon nap with no argument. The more creative the coupon is, the better.
6. Pasta Art
We love the message of this very simple past art. You can use any pasta available, really. But make sure that the paper you paste it on is thick enough to hold the pasta.
7. Hand card
Add a bit of sass into a normal Mother's Day Card by tracing a kid's hand into cardboard paper and connecting it with strip of paper.
8. Hand print + poem
Add rhymes to hand prints and you will have an artwork that mom can frame to remind her of the time when her child was small.
We hope you have fun making these!
