Where on earth do I start? There was just too much amazingness for one day I am overwhelmed! Anyway, enough of that I am sure you're all buzzing to know what KiwiOz got up to during their Wellness in the Park meet up! On Saturday the 30th of June, we met with 30 other KiwiOz Nannies on Clapham Common where the sun was shining probably the brightest that it can in London (haha). What followed was a morning with the absolutely beautiful Life and Wellness Coach, Emilia Francesca and equally as incredible Vinyasa trained Yoga instructor Lauryn Allman. Here's a little pic to put the faces to the name - Lauryn (left) and Emilia (right). Let's admit it, nannying can be a tough gig sometimes! We get it, all day you are putting endless energy, love and time into these wee ones who need nothing more (well maybe a bit more, but let's just start with that) to grow and develop into smart, loving, beautiful humans. But, you know that energy, love and time I just mentioned? YOU NEED IT TOO! You know that old saying - 'can't pour from an empty cup'? Well, believe it or not it is true. We love that with the help of Emilia we had the opportunity to offer to our Nannies a workshop where they could learn all different types of techniques to use day to day that are going to help with alll those things that inevitably fill up your cup! There were loads of techniques and actives that Emilia went through with us, first we started with tapping - not many girls had heard of it before, but after giving it a go and hearing how it can help I know it is something I will be taking away from the workshop. Following that we explored Self-care and Self-love - two obvious attributes when it comes to Wellness but two that time and time again are not given enough attention! Here's a little something that you can do right now - think of five things that you have done that you are proud of; for those Kiwi's/ Aussie's that travelled to London there's number one, moving to the other side of the world and landing a Nannying job is pretty bloody awesome! Be proud of yourself people and be proud of being proud! Other valuable themes that we covered included Gratitude and 'how to turn your negatives into positives'. I think what we loved most about the way in which Emilia presented all of these points to us is that she was real, she was coming from a place we could all relate to and she made it clear that nothing is a quick fix you do need to work on it to get the results. We can't wait to have Emilia back for another KiwiOz Wellness in the Park - she is a wealth of knowledge! After we wrapped up on the workshop side of things it was time for Lauryn to take over with a guided meditation and Yoga class. Lauryn was excellent in accommodating to all levels, and really making you feel like she was attentive to you specifically, even with 30ish other girls around! Lauryn was also in tune with the topics we had just covered so using Yoga as a way to compliment the workshop was just the cherry on top we were after! Finally I would like to thank the incredible companies that sponsored this event by providing take home samples and discount vouchers - Sukin with their Sensitive Cleansing Gel, Pukka with a variety of tea to choose from including their 'night time' tea, Crystal Spring thank you for your 'Salt of the Earth' natural deodorant, Weleda I cannot wait to use your 'Wild Rose Body Oil' and body wash, A.Vogel I can guarantee the 'Arnica Gel' and Herb Guide book will come in handy, Jan de Vries mmm herbal tea, Tribe and Pip & Nut for offering up some crazy discounts and last but certainly not least the incredibly generous Lizi's for giving us a larger than expected sample of their new 'Lizi's Adventure Granola' that unfortunately did not make it in time - but not to fear hopefully the first of many Wellness in the Park days and this will just have to be a special treat for our next one! Well guys, I hope I have given you an idea as to what our Wellness morning was all about, thanks for reading and I even more so hope that this has given you a little motivation if you were lacking. Stay in touch with our Facebook and other social pages to get the latest updates - hope to see you at our next KiwiOz Wellness in the Park xxx
