Our Matchmaking Process

Getting Started

This initial contact allows us to ask important questions, such as

  • Why do you want to become a nanny in London?

  • What do you love about caring for children?

  • What qualities do you have that makes you a great nanny?

If we think you have the qualities of a KiwiOz nanny, we’ll book you in for a registration interview.

In this one hour face to face or video interview, we want to know about you, your childcare experience, training and personal interests so we can match you with the right family.

So that we can complete the screening step below, we’ll need the following documents.

  • Passport

  • Driving Licence (if you have one)

  • Qualification Certificates

  • A good photograph for your profile

  • Police Check - dated in last 6 months (if you have one)

  • A valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate

  • Reference details last 3yrs of employment, and your most relevant childcare reference

  • VISA if applicable

Next Steps

We will take everything we have learnt about you in your registration interview and create your personal profile to highlight your unique strengths and preferred job scenario.

The screening process is very important. It’s designed to get a deep understanding of you and your experience and ensure you’re suitable to become a KiwiOz Nanny.

As a minimum you must have:

  • A police check issued within the last 6 months. If you don't have one, we can help you apply.

  • A valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

  • Good references that correlate with the information you supply at registration and your CV.

You can register without a first aid certificate, but you can’t work without one. If you don’t have one, you can book onto one of our courses or organise it yourself. But remember, no certificate, no job.

When checking your references, we’ll speak to a minimum of 3 employers from the last 3 years. Ideally, at least one of those would be a childcare reference, but if not, we will accept childcare references outside the 3 year time frame.

Preparing for Work

We will continue to update your profile with additional information as we receive it. Keeping your file on our system allows us to build a relationship with you over time and keeps you connected to our active network of London based nannies.

We’ll help you navigate the interview process– narrowing down the best jobs and helping you shine, sharing all our advice in a helpful Interview Guide.

All new candidates attend our Nanny Workshop. This will help you prepare for interviews and starting your new job. You’ll also find out about all the KiwiOz social events, nanny networking and ongoing support.

The KiwiOz Family

Once you receive an offer, we’ll contact you with the final Job Description. If you accept, we’ll connect you directly with the family to agree final terms and sign the contract. We'll help you understand the nitty gritty of your contract, ensuring it meets UK employment standards. We can advise both you and the family on what is a fair and competitive package for the position.

Congratulations, you are now employed and part of the KiwiOz family. You’ll be invited to monthly socials, organised kids’ events, playgroups and seasonal bashes. Of course, we’re always available to give phone support and advice if or when you need it.
